Dr. Charlie Arntson
My name is Dr. Charlie Arntson. I am a 1968 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. I spent the first several years practicing in Minnesota. In 1975-76 I was fortunate enough to spend time practicing in Africa. Upon my return, I continued my veterinary career in Minnesota until 1990 when I purchased Kindness Animal Hospital and moved to Chippewa Falls.
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and the Association of Avian Veterinarians.
I attend continuing education meetings on a regular basis. I also use the Veterinary Information Network frequently to consult on cases and keep up-to-date on new medicines and techinques for small animals and birds.
In my spare time I like to go bicycling and sailing. I am a member of the Lake Wissota Yacht Club. My wife Mary and I have four grown children, several grandchildren and a toy poodle named Zoey. Our home is in Chippewa Falls.
Dr. Margaret McDougall
Dr. Margaret McDougall, has a love for animals and is passionate about taking care of them. She had been interested in veterinary medicine from an early age.
Dr. McDougall is from Eau Claire and is a graduate of Eau Claire Memorial. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison veterinary school and joined us here in September 2017.
Dr.Margaret possesses an in-depth knowledge of the current procedures used to improve the general health of her patients. She is a good observer with a keen eye for detail, demonstrates excellent communication skills and is able to advise owners on taking care of their animals.
Dr. McDougall shares her home with her husband, two wonderful daughters, two dogs Coda, a lab, and Dolce, a Cavalier Spaniel as well as one cat, Jags. When not at work, Margaret enjoys spending time at the lake swimming and taking her daughters on a stand-up paddle board, watching birds, and just being outdoors. She is also part of a Mom's Running Group.
Robin has worked at Kindness since 1996. She is our veterinary assistant and also a receptionist. Robin says she likes working at the clinic as there is something different happening every day. During her free time she enjoys working on projects around her home and getting in an occasional bike ride. Robin lives in Cadott with her dog Maddie and 2 cats Puff and Rudy.
Shari is our receptionist at Kindness and has worked for the clinic since 1998. She enjoys chatting with the clients and meeting all of their pets. Shari says this is a great place to work as we are pretty much like one 'family' here. She lives in Eau Claire with her husband and a household full of pets including dogs, cats and several birds.
Meghan is originally from the Wausau, Wisconsin area where she lived on a hobby farm and her love of working with animals grew. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a bachelor of science degree, majoring in biology and a minor in both chemistry and business. Her future plans are to become a veterinarian, working with large and small animals, and maybe even run her own clinic. Meghan spends a lot of her free time with her own fur-babies. She currently has two pudgy bunnies, Latte and Bunbun and a camera shy dog who's a chihuahua mix named Bear
Bethany began working here in 2016 as an animal caretaker. She came to us with lots of experience since she has been a pet sitter for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, horses, llamas, pigs and bunnies. She also works at another area pet boarding facility on the weekends and works a couple of days a week at Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital as well.
More than anything Bethany enjoys loving and caring for animals. Her dream is to own her own happy dog boarding facility some day. Bethany is married and has her own house full of pets including dogs, cats and finches.
Charlene is from Cadott. She has two brothers, a sister-in-law and two beautiful nieces. She currently has two cats, three dogs and a horse. Charlene loves sports and thinks of herself as a very outdoorsy person. A few of her hobbies include riding horse, riding dirt bike and four wheeler, reading and sports (basketball and track).
Charlene is currently a student at UWEC with a biology major and preprofessional minor for pre-veterinarian medicine.
Kristy is originally from the Twin Cities. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Communications at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Her future career plans include working in museums or galleries, working as an Exhibit Designer. Kristy also plans to own her own hobby farm with horses, dogs, cats, cows, and sheep.
Kristy has had a love for animals all her life, despite her family's opposition. Kristy has spent most of her teenage years working with animals at local humane societies, animal sitting/walking services, and equestrian care/lessons/competitions.
Kristy's hobbies include equestrian, ATV-ing, freelance studio art/graphic design, spending time outdoors, and binge watching Disney movies.
Paws and Claws Total Dog
Paws and Claws Total Dog offers grooming services at our clinic. Paws and Claws is a family owned business, operating in our area since about 1996. They offer basic dog grooming services including nail trimming and painting (if requested), ear cleaning, bathing, grooming, clipping, and brushing as needed for your particular kind of dog.
