About Us

Collaborative Veterinary Care in Chippewa Falls

At Kindness Animal Hospital, we pride ourselves on a rich history of compassionate care and deep community connections. Founded in 1970 by Dr. Doug Erbeck and Dr. Jim Hagee, our clinic has been a trusted name in veterinary medicine for decades. After Dr. Hagee established our sister clinic Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital (OHAH), our clinics developed a strong partnership that enables seamless referrals for advanced care. Dr. Lucy Anderson purchased the clinic in 1985, followed by Dr. Charles Arntson in 1990. In 2017, Drs. Pam Ogden, Kevin Landorf, and Todd Leavitt became the owners, with Dr. Margaret McDougall joining as a partner when Dr. Ogden retired in 2021.

Our team’s local roots run deep. Dr. Landorf started his career in Chippewa Falls as a mixed-animal veterinarian, while Dr. McDougall—who once dreamed of becoming a veterinarian while driving past our clinic as a child—has come full circle to join our practice. Dr. Emily Scheider, who grew up on a local dairy farm, further strengthens our regional ties. And Dr. Todd Leavitt is proud to call Eau Claire his home.

Our commitment to exceptional care shows through our dedicated staff, including one team member who has served our community for 25 years. Our welcoming lobby features an aviary, home to a cherished dove for over 15 years, and we proudly partner with local rescue groups to support wildlife. At Kindness Animal Hospital, we combine our legacy of service with our passion for care to give your pets the exceptional treatment they deserve.
